Bassist needed for metal/djent/prog band

Capable bassist is needed for a new metal/djent/prog band based out of Greensboro, NC. We are currently two guitars and a drummer with many years of experience, both together and individually. Our general influences span far and wide, but for this project lay somewhere in the After The Burial, Periphery, Volumes, Veil of Maya, etc. realm. Intricate rhythms, good mix of melodic and heavy-for-the-sake-of-being-heavy passages, somewhat unique arrangements (what is "unique" anymore?), and actual songs. We outgrew 15-minute opuses more than a decade ago and like making a statement with the music. We're easy to get along with and like to have fun while creating. All of the usual criteria applies here: an adept understanding of your instrument (this music isn't the easiest to play, but you don't need a degree in music performance), great attitude, ability to commit to rehearsal once per week, stage-ready equipment, have your own transportation, etc. If you're interested in this position, you likely already know the drill. Please, no flakes, hard addicts, or tire kickers. Ability to play extended range bass (5+ strings) is NECESSARY, as most of the music is being written on 7- & 8-string guitars. We use Guitar Pro to compose, arrange, and transcribe the music, then learn outside of rehearsal so that we can make the best of our time together. We all have the ability to produce music from home, though this is not a requirement for the bassist position. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings in a good sized climate controlled storage unit near PTI in Greensboro.
