Our Aussiedoodle is an active and intelligent mixed-breed dog with AKC Australian Shepherd and AKC Poodle parents. Often called a “designer breed”, “Aussiedoodle” is not really an actual breed designation. The term refers to intentionally crossing two distinct breeds with the hope that the puppies will exhibit the most desirable attributes of their parents — for example the non-shedding coat of a Poodle and the intelligence of an Australian Shepherd. If you’re looking for the Einstein of dogs, our Aussiedoodle is a great candidate since both Poodles and Australian Shepherds are intelligent breeds. They’re well known for their smarts and tend to be active and require exercise for both body and brain. The Aussiedoodle makes an excellent family dog, as long as smaller children know how to safely play with the pup. They are also incredible therapy dogs, given how quickly they bond to a specific human or two. Aussiedoodles are a great option for a pet parent looking to get their pup involved in some flyball or agility training. Plus, have you ever seen a more adorable face? He's incredibly hard to resist. Our little guy is 8 weeks old. Has been wormed and shots are up to date.
Aussiedoodles are very playful and like to bring you gifts. However, they're also big teases—they'll show a fellow dog their toy, but then run away with it. In fact, playing chase is one of their favorite games. They'll eventually give it up, but not before starting an intense game of tug-of-war. Aussiedoodles are very energetic, lively, and super playful dogs and love to run around and play. This is a great thing if that's what you are looking for in a dog but bear in mind that Aussiedoodles can get destructive if not given a proper outlet for their vigor.
