Keeping bees is a challenge. There is much to learn, and it will take some time. For now, focus on starting a colony. Learn about the equipment you will need and how to buy bees. Receive detailed instructions on picking up and installing your colony, how and when to complete your first hive inspection, what to look for and how long to wait before opening the hive again. These are small classes in a comfortable atmosphere. You are encouraged to ask questions and make the most of the two hours. You will leave feeling good about the challenge that lies ahead. This class is taught by Peter Somers, Salt Lake County Apiary Inspector. Multiple dates are available.
