Description
The School of Nursing hosts a Nursing Honors and Pinning Ceremony for our graduating students. The pinning ceremony is a time-honored nursing school tradition which signifies the nursing graduate's official initiation into the brotherhood and sisterhood of nurses. This ceremony celebrates the transition from being nursing students to nursing professionals through the act of receiving a pin. TICKETS Ticketing is in place to ensure that everyone in your Cohort is able to invite 6 guests to the Ceremony. Please read this section thoroughly: • We will not be collecting tickets at the event, however we do need to know how many guests each student will expect so that we can have enough chairs set up in the Auditorium. • Tickets are not required for Graduating Students. • Initially, Six (6) tickets ONLY are allotted for each graduating student. • Any student who orders more than 6 tickets during this time will have all but the initial 6 tickets cancelled. • Any student who wishes to obtain more than 6 tickets must have this approved by writing to [email protected] • We will not give permission for additional tickets until February 17th to give everyone a full month to order their allotted 6 tickets. • It is highly unlikely we will “sell-out” of tickets We have never reached maximum capacity, however it is best practices to allow each student a month to secure their initial allotment. Those students who request additional tickets will be given the “OK” to do so via an email from Laura Devaney on February 17th. guests should make note of parking rates and posted signage. • Students do not need to bring anything to the event. Upon check in, students will be given a note card with their name on it. You will hand this to the appropriate faculty member during the procession of candidates as they cross the stage to ensure that the correct name is announced. • If your guest or Pinner requires any accommodations, please let us know by writing to Laura Devaney at [email protected]. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • Dress is “business casual”. You may wear your White Coat if you like. If you chose to wear your White Coat, please make sure it is ironed/pressed. • Please be aware that you will be walking up a riser of about 4-5 steps to cross the stage, and down a different riser of the same size once you have crossed. Consider this when choosing footwear. • You are encouraged to wear your honor cords if applicable. No other regalia should be worn. • The venue – Student Center 120 AB – tends to be warm. Please advise your guests that they may wish to dress in light layers so that they can adjust their attire to be most comfortable. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] Wishing you a successful final quarter!
