St. Mary’s Church Jefferson, MA Job Description Job Title: Custodian / Maintenance FLSA: Non-Exempt: Maximum 40 hours/week Reports to: Office Manager Date: January 2023 Salary range: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour Start date: Immediate Summary: Permanent part-time position to handle custodial and light maintenance tasks for church campus consisting of three separate buildings and exterior grounds. Major Areas of Responsibility: Parish, Gathering Room, Parish Hall, Shed and Grounds Responsibilities: • Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and washing floors and shampooing rugs • Perform routine maintenance tasks • Organize custodial closets and spaces • Move and rearrange portable furniture as needed for events • Flexible schedule to cover 40 hours per week with occasional weekend work required Qualifications: • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields • Ability to handle physical workload, some heavy lifting is required • Strong attention to detail • Strong organizational skills
