A forklift driver is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The forklift driver is also responsible for the daily inspection of the forklift and ensuring that it is in proper working order. Other duties may include: * Loading and unloading goods from vehicles * Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions * Checking loads are secure * Stacking empty pallets * Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment * Removing machine attachments and waste material from the truck * Performing other warehouse-related tasks as assigned Forklift drivers should be physically fit, as the job may require lifting heavy items. They should also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have good communication and teamwork skills. Most employers require a forklift license and some previous experience operating a forklift.
