Starts January 19th (Thursdays from 1:30PM-4:30PM for 6 weeks).
NOTE: Masks are optional in this series.
Get the basics down! Learn to center clay on the wheel and pull up a cylinder. The next week, add a handle and learn how to trim. The following week, learn how to shape your cylinder into a bellied mug. The fourth week will cover glazing. And the final two weeks will be technique, technique, technique!
For students who have taken one of our beginner level ceramic series or a similar course elsewhere.
Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.
Fee does not include materials. Clay will be $3/pound which covers glazing and firing costs.
About the instructor: Lee Cummings has over fifty years experience working with clay--thirty as a production potter, taught at Germantown Academy and Unity College, and had a one person show at the University Museum in Bangor, as well as sold her work through Littlefield Gallery and Greenhut Gallery.
