Join us at Worthy Brewing for presentations from the Deschutes Historical Museum in the Hop Mahal on the last Tuesday of the month. Topics will rotate each presentation! January's Topic & Speaker: Join David Johnson, former Professor of history at Portland State University as we uncover Lynching in Oregon and the larger Pacific West. Johnson has worked on www.unjust-justice.org since 2015-a public history website that maps, documents, and analyzes lynchings, vigilantism, mobbings, and massacres in the Pacific West from the 1840s to the end of World War II. The intended audience includes students (high school, college undergraduate and graduate), teachers, scholars, and the general public interested in studying the history of violence in the U.S. West.
