Dr. Ian Murphy was a Valedictorian who was refused to do his graduation speech on Jesus. The Associated Press got wind of his school trying to censor him. Before the internet, he went viral in the news nationwide. His local Congressman came to his support. A movie was made about his story. A bill in Congress was named after him, preventing the censorship of Valedictorian’s. He became a acclaimed Baptist minister. After much reflection, he converted to Catholicism. He knew this would cause him to lose his position in his church and standing in his community. He was basically ostracized and shunned from his town. He is now a author and speaker for the Catholic faith. Please come see him at St. Peter’s Church in our Parish Hall. All proceeds go to St. Peter’s Church.
