In 2014, the Harvard Business Review wrote "pitching ideas for startups as a way to test for which entrepreneurs are most likely to succeed is a waste of time" and at HUSTLE, we couldn't agree more!
Instead of pitches, we will formulate three hypothetical situations that could occur in the development and commercialization of submitted ideas. Each team will be given 15 minutes to develop proposed solutions, responses, or next steps to the hypothetical situations. Teams will then be given five minutes to present their responses.
This process evaluates, in a time-efficient manner, an entrepreneur’s leadership ability, idea, and quality of an entrepreneur’s team – three things we know are critical entrepreneurial success factors.
