The Christmas bird count is an annual event that is happening between December 14th and January 5th. This program is run by the National Audubon Society and happens every year in the same locations across the country. This is a way to promote conservation by counting birds.
We are excited to be partnered with Audubon South Carolina to host this event on the last day of the bird count! This will be a guided walk through the nature trails at the Sewee Center and will last no longer than 2 hours. This is available to anyone interested in getting outside to look for birds and help with this community science project! Whether you're a beginner birder, an expert, or just want a nice quiet nature walk to look for birds, please come out! This will be all outside, so please dress appropriately.
What to bring:
-good walking shoes
-water bottle
-binoculars
-dress for the weather!
