You are invited to join community members and local leaders of the anti-human trafficking movement in Contra Costa County for this day of action aimed at raising community awareness of human trafficking and publicizing resources available to victims (survivors) and concerned community members.
As a kick-off to this "day of action," participants will be provided training on human trafficking, the California law that requires some local businesses to post human trafficking notices, and canvassing techniques. Armed with these knowledge and skills, participants will fan out in teams across central county (e.g., Martinez, Concord, Clayton, Walnut Creek, Alamo and Lafayette) to talk with designated business owners and provide them with notices and other informational resources on the state mandate. Refreshments will be provided in the morning and afternoon at the event venue.
This event offers participants a direct and tangible means to contribute to the fight again human trafficking in our county and connect with other like-minded individuals in the community. Similar efforts in recent years have produced valuable tips to law enforcement on suspected human trafficking and connected victims (survivors) with much needed assistance and support. We hope you will join us in starting off 2023 by participating in this meaningful event!
