The Corn Fed Girls are original acoustic americana from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Their sound is earthy and innovative, traditional instrumentation with lush vocal harmonies and a folky aesthetic. Members have played in many of the regions favorite bands over the years including Knee Deep Shag, Daddy Long Legs, Red Sea Pedestrians, Doxie, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Sundog and others. The Corn Fed Girls are a favorite on the Michigan folk festival circuit.
This is the first of three free concerts presented by Sunday Afternoon Live! We are hosted by the 1st Congregational Church of Battle Creek. Sunday Afternon Live presents free concerts to enhance the cultural life in the Battle Creek and Calhoun County area. A family friendly reception follows each concert, giving patrons an opportunity to meet the artists, converse with friends, and buy merchandise. Our events are free due to the generou contributions of our sponsors who include individual donors, businesses, foundations, and the Michigan Council for the Arts. We gladly accept free will contributions to sustain this popular series, in it's 13 year. Future concerts include Minor Element (February 19), and the Farmland Jazz Band (March 12).
