It is shameful the lack of care shown for this magnificent building! The broken drains are allowing water to damage the structure!! Built in 1904 and used as a library until the 79 s when it was sold to a private party(carnegie buildings are for free public use, greedy city council!) Then sold to the county in 1986, and has apparently sat empty since. I see there was some activity in 2017 concerning grants but the building as it sits today shows no love!! What happened? Where the grants not enough? Were they taken and the funds squandered? If you care about your community save this building xenia!! Andrew carnegie personally funded this and many other library throughout the country. The carnegie foundation is not and will not help as it is separate. If no one else cares ill try to save the building, but its very sad and a downright shame to allow an institution like this to whither!
