Maintenance Specialist Position Summary: We are looking for a responsible Maintenance Worker & Handyman who can complete tasks as assigned with the upkeep of our building, grounds and equipment. Essential Functions/Major Duties & Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Use cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the office building looking clean and professional 2. Care and upkeep of the exterior grounds, including snow removal from the entryways 3. Basic knowledge of hand tools 4. Removal of the facility’s garbage and recycling 5. Ability to paint 6. Assist in maintenance of production equipment 7. Assemble furniture and equipment 8. Move materials around the plant 9. Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone Skills/Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required which include but are not limited to: 1. High school diploma or GED preferred 2. Mechanically inclined 3. Knowledge of hand and power tools 4. Minor plumbing skills 5. Minor electrical skills 6. Experience in mixing chemicals is a plus 7. Handyman experience 8. Strong organizational skills Competencies/Expectations 1. High degree of professionalism 2. Strong verbal and written communication skills 3. Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds 4. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English Supervisory Responsibility None Work Environment Manufacturing Offices and Plant. We are a small manufacturing facility located in North Smithfield with our Headquarters located in Providence. Safety Trained in all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., 40 hours per week. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day.
