In partnership with Creative Colloquy, LitFest is the kick-off event for Poetry in the Gardens (formerly the Winter Garden Poetry Series) at Lakewold Gardens. From February 3rd through 5th, LitFest celebrates the South Sound literary arts community by showcasing established and emerging storytellers and poets from across the region. 10 Winners of the Poetry in the Gardens will read their poetry selections which will be featured throughout the garden grounds as an interactive experience. Come to the soft opening of LitFest on Friday afternoon to buy signed copies of works by our featured authors and stick around for a reading and Q&A session with the authors afterwards. On Saturday and Sunday sign up for a storytelling or poetry writing workshop in the morning before more book signings and readings in the afternoon. The 10 winning Garden Poets will read their poetry at the beginning of an evening open-mic session which will close each day. Sign up for a workshop and share your work at the evening open-mic. Meet several talented local authors from diverse backgrounds in several genres including YA science fiction, graphic novel, poetry, memoir, essays, and more.
