Description

Join the Friends of Government Canyon for a guided hike at Government Canyon State Natural Area. Discover how water 100 million years ago resulted in our being able to see these amazing animal tracks today and into the future. We’ll experience the tracks from ground level while hiking the Joe Johnston Route, and from above via the Overlook Trail, and then return back to the Visitor Center on the Joe Johnston Route. Who is Invited: Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets or strollers please. Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Hiking group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations. Registration opens on Saturday, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. The Natural Area can be very busy! Guarantee entry by reserving your free day pass up to one month before this special event. SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation. This outing is subject to cancellation. Meet at the Visitors Center by the rainwater harvesting tower. The Natural Area can be very busy!
