Description
Please join us for a Hapé (Rapé) session on February 9th in Easton, PA to learn more about the sacred use of tobacco. Our speaker will be Shane Rose, who has been attending & participating in various Indigenous ceremonies in North & South America for several years. He also works with the sacred medicine of Huachuma/San Pedro in ceremonial settings with his partner. Shane will be sharing his understanding of the usage and benefits of Rapé. Afterwards, we will have the chance to socialize and share in a potluck meal. This is a great opportunity to share stories, ask questions, and connect with others who are interested in plant-medicine in a safe, like-minded, and supportive community. Tickets are a suggested donation between $10-$25 and go directly to the venue cost and our facilitator for his time/expertise. Space is limited to 15 participants, so a ticket must be purchased in order to reserve your spot, even if the donation is $1. However, please consider a reasonable donation, if possible. Rapé (also pronounced Hapé) is a tool that is used by the Indigenous in the Amazon. Usually Rapé will have a foundation of Tobacco and from there other ingredients will be added such as plant & tree material, and/or ashes from certain plants & trees. When used in an intentional ceremonial setting, Rapé helps clear energetic/spiritual blockages. This tool can aid us in grounding and centering our internal energies, as well as increase the concentration and clarity of our mind. In doing so, rapé can help us with prayer, meditation, and setting an intention in our lives. Shane will have Rapé, pipes, and accessories available for purchase. Things to know: Refrain from eating a couple hours before the circle. Having rapé on a full stomach can create nausea. Bring a yoga mat, cushion, or meditation chair. We will be sitting on the floor. There will be some available in the studio; however, if you like yours, bring it. Bring food for the pot luck afterwards. Please be mindful of food allergies such as gluten, dairy, nuts, or vegetarian options.Do not arrive late. Consider arriving 10 minutes early to settle into the circle.
