Description
I have 7 axolotls in need of homes.
They are all female wild types, which means dark green with mottled dark spots. They are five to seven inches long, one year old, and have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. Friendly, goofy, and glutenous, they will come closer as you approach the tank and beg for worms. You can feed them by hand, or just drop the food into the tank.
One axolotl will need at least a 20 gallon-long aquarium with hiding places and a filter, for two axolotls you need a 30 gallon or larger tank. I recommend sponge filters, as hanging filters tend to make a current that stresses axolotls. They do not require a light, but do need to stay below 80 degrees - basements are perfect for summer times.
Feeding on night crawlers, red wiggler compost worms, frozen/thawed blood worms (not freeze-dried, which float and taste bad), small chunks of beef heart, and axolotl pellets. As cold blooded animals, they only eat every other day.
$20 rehoming fee, waved for teachers and military families.
Now willing to ship, but beware shipping is expensive (about $50 and up).
