Description

Part time work for anyone that owns a 2500/F-250 or larger truck. A 80+gallon fuel transfer tank equipped with pump and fuel meter are required for most call-outs as well. The job description includes the following: When there are power outages to cell towers that do not have pre-existing generators you will need to drive to a generator yard, hook up to a mobile generator, pull it to the site that has lost power, connect the generator to site using the site aux power box, perform site health checks though our app, and refuel the generator as needed from your fuel transfer tank, etc. When the generator is no longer needed you will return to the site, disconnect the generator, and take it back to the generator yard, etc. Occasionally we also may just need you to drive from site to site refueling pre-existing generators from your transfer tank. It's a semi on-call position. You can always say no to any call-out, but when called expect to need to be on the road within 3-6 hours if you say yes. If it's a larger storm where there will be guaranteed outages you may have a day or more heads up. You should expect 2-8 weeks of work per year roughly. How often you are called can vary wildly depending on your experience, location, number of outages per storm, etc. 1099 subcontractor position. Starts at $34 per hour, min 10 hours per day paid even if on standby, hotel covered, $30 per diem, all fuel covered or reimbursed. Average call-out time is 1-5 days. Pay is typically received 2-3 weeks after the event.
