Hello my name is carrisa and I own and operate a small and exotic animal rescue. I run it out of my house in Jeffersonville Indiana. I do NOT get any state or city funding. I just do it because of the love I have for these feathery/ scaly/ furry animals. I do have references. How it usually works..... someone will have a scally/feathered or furry friend that they can no longer take care of and will call me. I then either pick the animal up or invite the people and animal over (completely up to the person) after I have the animal I then take he or she to the vet no matter what (so I can see if the animal needs any medical) then I keep the animal for around 2weeks to a month depending when they are completely healthy. Then I out source with Facebook, instagram, tic tok (any media platform that I can) to find the animals new forever home. I do background checks and home visits to ensure that the animal goes to a safe place. I do get a adoption fee to pay for medical expenses and housing the animal and to ensurethattheperson can afford to take careof the animal. But it is always a small adoption fee.
