New Year same result… I’m a 55 year old lead guitar player looking to join a band… again… My influences are many but my thing is high energy hard rock. I cut my teeth on Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Metallica etc. but at this point in my completely fail history of a guitar holder is to find professional minded musicians that have the same unscratchable itch that I have to play in a serious committed real musicianed band. Seriously where do I go to find these people? And how do you find each other? I have a full time job so I’m not looking to make a living at playing music; I just want to be involved with a band and people that really take music serious. I want to take my skills to the next level and surround myself with professionals. I don’t mean working musicians but people that really take music serious and look forward to playing and not look for excuses not to play. If you were to ask me what type of band I want to be in I’d say a high energy danceable hard rock band but at this point I just want to get/be involved with real musicians and grow into whatever we are and become. It would be best if we started out on the same page, meaning we come from similar music backgrounds and start off with like minded music then evolve from that. I’ve been watching the Beatles documentary and stuff like that and I love how they sit around as musicians and grow and break things down. That’s what I want to be a part of, not people rushing through a two hour practice because they gotta watch the game or whatever. My thing is I can’t watch the rest of the game because I have band practice and I’ll probably be home late so eat without me. If you can relate to what I’m saying let’s talk and see if we can get something going or if you’re a band looking for a like minded guitar player let’s do the same.
