Power Tools 101 has a new venue! The class will take place at the RDM Workshop in Lower Price Hill - 2145 Hatmaker Street 45204. Look for a short building with a blue door. Free parking along the street in front or in the gravel lot attached to the building. Enter through front door or garage door in the back of the building. The Power Tools 101 workshop will teach the skills you need to use a few of the more common and useful power tools in the DIY repertoire safely and skillfully. Students will have the opportunity to watch demos of each tool and then will go around to “tool stations” to try out using the tools for themselves, with supervision. Tools we’ll cover will include (but not limited to): - Circular Saw - Miter Saw - Impact Driver and Drill - Multi-Tool - Sawzall - Jig Saw PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have it. About the teacher: Tom Parker (he/him) has been doing home remodeling for over 20 years. As a kid, Tom was exposed to a lot of home building while his parents built their home in Pennsylvania. That experience helped Tom a lot when he went into remodeling, though he still had a lot of learning to do on his own. Today, Tom is the lead carpenter on his team at a private home remodeling company based in Price Hill. About Do It Yourself Darlin’s workshops: All Do It Yourself Darlin Workshops are donation-based, geared towards beginners, and open to anyone age 16+. DIYD is 100% funded through grants and donations and your “ticket” is a donation to our program that will directly cover the expenses necessary to produce this workshop.
