Rock Violinist looking for Experienced Musicians to Make New Music

Description

Indie rock violinist and multi-instrumentalist looking for experienced musicians of all types. I'd be interested in joining an already established band or organizing a new band/collective. I want to be involved with a group of musicians who share my passion for making compelling, meaningful new/original music. Looking for anything from a power trio (core) to an expansive group of people who want to creatively explore and stretch themselves to cover whatever roles serve the song. Male or female, doesn't matter. Just looking for the right fit. Besides the occasional obscure one-off that we all love, I'm not at all interested in playing covers. There's nothing wrong with it if that is what you are wanting to do, and I wish you well in that endeavor, but please don't contact me. I've played in several different bands and done a lot of live and session work in the Columbus scene over the past 15 years including everything from singer-songwriter and alt-country/folk rock to indie rock to experimental and post rock. My main instrument is violin/viola and singing background vocals, but I can also play acoustic/electric guitar, mandolin, bass, etc. if the song calls for it and there's nobody else to cover the part. And if I have to step up to the mic and sing lead on a song, I will. I'd rather stick to my strengths, but I'm competent enough on the secondary instruments mentioned to get the job done if necessary. I used to write a lot of songs, and I have a few unfinished songs we could work on, but I haven't written anything in a long time. I've been more focused on playing my part of the whole and doing it well, and I'm wanting to make new material for this project, not looking back. So, bring your new song ideas, and we'll see where it takes us. Here is a link to my ReverbNation artist page. It has some song samples and pictures/videos from back in the day. It also has a link to my Facebook artist page, which has more historical media content but turned into just another place to post shows. http://www.reverbnation.com/sethellsworth Those pages make it look like I haven't played out since 2015 or 2017. I was still playing nice venues with Joey Hendrickson and the Sleepless Nights up to the end of 2019, right before the pandemic happened. I just got lazy about posting the shows online. The pandemic brought everything to a hault, and since then, I've been helping others record demos and finding new sounds with new gear in my home studio space. The pandemic is behind us enough that it's no longer an excuse not to get back into it, so it's time to get on with what I'm meant to be doing - making meaningful music. If any of this interests you, reply to this post. I have some interest from a couple of musicians I've worked with in the past, but I'd like to get as much new blood/new ideas going in this as possible. Drop me a line, and let me know. :)
