PigPen Theatre Co. uses their collection of shadow puppets to transform the Main Stage into a magical setting inhabited by curious beings at each performance. The group, along with designer Lydia Fine, hand-built each of the puppets from scratch, using materials ranging from straightforward poster-board cutouts to recycled household items! In this workshop for all ages, puppeteer and artist Meredith Hoppe will teach you how to create your own set of shadow puppets. Participants will engage in cooperative role-playing, storytelling, and movement activities while listening to a live soundtrack provided by the HATCO Unplugged: Acoustic Band students from Hope Academy.
