I've been playing rock guitar for more than a couple decades now, and ambient/groove synth for a few years. I have recently started focusing on bass, and leaning heavily toward funk. I have always enjoyed experimenting and blending genres. I have no illusions of grandeur, and am far more interested in writing and playing music that is exciting and fun to play than in trying to appeal to bar crowds or popular setlists. My biggest current influences are bands like Snarky Puppy, Ghost Note, Vulfpeck, The Motet, and 70's and 80's jazz and funk. I will not pretend for one moment that I am at the skill or knowledge level of any of the musicians in those bands. But I'm not going to get there if I don't find some like-minded musicians and start making some music.
