On December 2, 2022, at 7 pm, I traveled from Embassy Suites near the convention center to the Washington National Cathedral to attended Handel’s Messiah. I was visiting Washington, D.C., with my ten-year-old nephew. As we took our seats, I noticed my chain was lying open on my neck, and the heart-shaped locket had fallen off.
The locket was very special to me- it was a fifth-anniversary gift from my husband and the only jewelry I wore often. I don’t feel too attached to many things, but this meant a lot. Our 5th year of marriage was significant; we welcomed our daughter and faced many challenges through that process. The locket was not expensive; it was purchased online from a vintage jewelry dealer on Etsy.
I’ve attached a few images of the locket. I spent much time that night retracing my steps- my ten-year-old nephew helping me search. If it happens to turn up, please let me know.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and thank you for your time.
