There is an ongoing Legionnaire's Disease and Pontiac Fever outbreak, confirmed by the MN Dept of Health (known to the state since October 2022, residents informed on December 20), at Woodland Gardens Apartments, owned by Edmunds Real Estate. Visitors and residents are all susceptible if they inhale droplets of aerosolized water, as from showers, taps, open washing machines. The CDC reports show that 10% of those stricken with LD die from it.
No signs from the Dept of Health or Edmunds have been posted on or in the building to inform daily visitors (such as caregivers). There has been no news coverage in the state, even though residents have communicated with news organizations. MPR in MN radio today covered a Legionnaire's Disease outbreak in New Jersey. Apparently, NJ residents matter more to MPR MN than Minnesota residents do.
