In their NewBo City Market debut Saturday, January 21, TellersBridge, accompanied by musicians Dale and Emily Beeks, will present humorous stories and tall tales. (You won't want to miss Ben's account of Iowa seed-spitting prowess) These contest-winning storytellers are all connected to Iowa by birth or address. Their mission is to make live storytelling a part of eastern Iowa's entertainment scene.
TellersBridge is a group of experienced storytellers who have banded together to organize storytelling events in eastern Iowa. Some of our members have performed at the Iowa Storytelling Festival, Story Jam in Chicago, and our storytelling workshops. Our storytelling shows may be curated, with several storytellers performing, or they may offer an opportunity for audience members to tell stories on a pre-established theme. We want to build a bridge connecting story lovers with tellers through local events.
TellersBridge offers a wide selection of stories, including tall tales, historical fiction, personal stories, and occasionally something to keep you awake at night. While this is a curated event, TellersBridge also hosts "open mic" story events. Do you have a story you'd like to share? Stay tuned!
