Blind vendor seeks a mature, dependable, and honest person as a Driver/Assistant for a vending company with machines in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties. This is a part-time job, mostly 2 days/week, 5-6 hours/day (typically, 7:00 a.m. to 12:30-1:00 p.m.): ability to pinch-hit for other drivers when needed, no evenings, weekends, or holidays. We operate from the I75 rest area off of Exit 131, north of Daniels and west of Treeline. Duties include, but may not be limited to: • Driving a van from site to site along the route in order to transport vending stock and stopping at various locations to replenish vending machines • Assisting the vendor in loading the van, stocking, inspecting, and sometimes adjusting machines Requirements: • Valid driver's license • Able to drive GMC 3500 box truck • Able to perform heavy lifting, e.g., hoisting cases of 24 20 oz. bottles, et al • Able to push a fairly heavy cart for some distances over variable surfaces • Able to load and off-load fairly heavy snack and soft drink carts on and off the truck via a ramp • Able to perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on machines (training, manuals, and support will be provided) • Able to work additional days/hours when needed to fill in for other drivers (who will fill in for you when you cannot) • Able to proficiently speak, read, and write English • Able to pass a TSA/Port Authority background check to be badged into secure areas at RSW airport Please do not respond if you are looking for or are planning to look for other jobs that conflict with the days/hours indicated above - this job requires some training and a clearance check so we are looking for someone who is happy with the days/hours and will be around for a while.
