Description

We are an Americana band that focuses on three part harmonies. We have rhythm guitar, fiddle and Cajon percussion (we are in the process of adding a banjo) https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cjk5QMcsX4e/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= "The Way Back Yard" on Instagram (we started playing music in backyards during covid) We are looking for a bass player that can sing backup vocals too. Someone very comfortable on either upright bass or standard who has been playing folky, bluegrass, Americana music for years and wants to join a band that is festival bound. Our goal is to play big turn, mid west music fest and record. We play lots of deep roots standards and we are always writing original music and collaborating with each other. Influences/styles include old crow medicine show, punch brothers, wilco, charlie parr, accoustic rolling stones, decemberists, andrew bird, the last revel, Billy Strings, and Towns Van Zant. We are in our late 20s and 30s, but age ain't nothing but a number. We need the vibe and spark of a collaborative bass player that wants to be part of a band going places (local festivals is about as far as we wanna go for now). My original music have been on 89.3 the Current local show and 90.3 KFAI. I've been singing, writing songs and performing for 20 years and this latest band is only 2 years old, but we are serious about making great music with the best male three part harmonies in South Minneapolis and having fun entertaining crowds. We play the 331, Aster Cafe, Acadia...small Minneapolis venues. We all live in South Minneapolis, but if you are willing to drive a bit to come to us for practice that's up to you. Excited to jam!
