Length of rope

I was out walking in the woods, off the beaten path, and found a fairly long length of rope coiled up at the base of a tree. It is about the diameter of a pencil or sharpie, and very soft and supple. There are some snap hooks attached to the ends, and if I didn't know any better, I could swear it has a slight scent of perfume on it. There were some other items with it, so to claim it describe what they would be.
