We are looking for gypsy jazz enthusiasts to join a GJ jam band that meets once a month in frederick. We are looking to add one guitar, a clarinet, and violin to our existing base. This is a low pressure jam band, not a gigging band. All that you need is to have an acoustic instrument, ability to follow a lead sheet, a positive attitude, commitment to practicing, and be a reliable monthly participant. If you are new to the genre, we are a supportive group and can help get you jump started. We have a core trio of guitar, bass, and accordion that has been meeting for several years. In addition, we have a few musicians that join us as time permits. Note that this isn’t a typical song circle or guitar-centric strum fest. It is a small group of amateur musicians seeking a few additional members that will make this a priority in their monthly schedule and attend most of our jam sessions.
