Crush’s Story:
Showed up as a stray on our street in the Spring of 2022. My brother was feeding other stray cats, so Crush just became one of the group.
When we went to get him spayed, it turned out that he had been microchipped. When the previous owner was contacted, they said that they had “given him away” and did not want to reclaim him. He has been living outside until this past week, and was brought in due to the extreme cold. It turns out that he LOVES being indoors.
Things to know:
Crush is a little fearful of new things and it has taken patience to gain his trust, leading us to believe he may have been abused. But he does respond well to love and support.
Only once did my brother get scratched by him slightly, but this was while playing. Otherwise, he is very gentle. The main issue with Crush is that it can be difficult to leave him, as he sometimes will scratch or lightly bite at the back of legs/pants, if you go to leave him before he is ready! He does respond, however, to a gentle verbal scolding. Since we are learning how to manage this, it is no longer much of an issue.
We think Crush would respond very well to a loving home with several people (and maybe other animals) who would love and support him.
