The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Billy Kelly is headlining the show and Jason Gowin and Connor Swagler are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast. A native of Nichols, N.Y., Connor Swagler got his start in stand-up in Rochester. He’s been steadily building his arsenal of one-liners and stories -- much to the audiences’ delight. The way Swagler looks is just about how his comedy sounds. While he is an accomplished actor, comedian and podcaster, Jason Gowin is probably best known for being one of the stars of Hulu’s “Extreme Paranormal,” Amazon Prime’s “Hellier” and Lifetime’s “This Time Next Year.” He is the father of three children, who work tirelessly to make each and every day a hallucinogenic nightmare for Jason. He’s barely hanging on. He's a host and creator of The Parent’s Lounge podcast and comedy series and can be heard on Sirius XM channel 97. A comedian in Lewisburg, Billy Kelly has written and recorded two albums and works all over Pennsylvania, entertaining audiences of all ages. A Grammy-nominated comedian and musician, Kelly’s style has been called “stand-up that some have found offensively clean,” by The New York Times. Kelly works for Wise Crackers Comedy Club in Pennsylvania.
