Did you know that Ukrainians celebrate New Year's twice?
On January 1st, Ukrainians "say hello" to 2023, write down their new year's wishes, burn them over a glass of champagne and drink the ashes.
The 'Old New Year' is the first day of the old Julian calendar used by the Romans. Ukrainians celebrate two Christmases as well!
Join Napa Valley to Ukraine, The Hero Foundation (Napa) and our Ukrainian co-hosts for a deep dive into Ukrainian culture, full of humor, fun and surprises. Enjoy Ukrainian food, drink, caroling, music, and some memorable traditions.
Sales of additional food and wine, crafts, t-shirts, and more all raise funds for Ukraine.
Tickets are $20 and include a glass of wine and some small bites.
Free admission for children, students and Yountville residents (with ID's as appropriate).
We will be thinking like Ukrainians on January 14th too. Despite the hard times, we will stay positive, crack jokes to cope, do what we can, and know in our hearts that Ukraine will prevail.
Sponsored by Napa Valley to Ukraine, The Hero Foundation of Napa (a 501c3 nonprofit), The Town of Yountville, the Yountville Sun, Ranch Markets, and Help UA Now.
