Do you have dreams and aspirations you want to achieve personally and/or professionally? Do you feel like you set the same goals year after year but don't feel like you are making progress toward them? This workshop is just for you! Dr. Jennifer Smith and Karen Schumacher will share their personal stories of achieving goals and dreams - even with setbacks. You will have a chance to create your vision board and action plan to take with you. Dr. Jennifer Smith is a passionate developer of people and loves saying “YES!” to anything related to that idea. She spends her days working as a Learning and Development leader for BerganKDV, a professional services firm based in the Midwest while spending nights, teaching in the leadership programs for University of Charleston and supporting clients through her private coaching firm, The Dangerous Leader Group. She also volunteers for several veteran, community, entrepreneurial, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion organizations. Jennifer is an Army veteran, former corporate and nonprofit leader, and has lived all over the world and United States. She holds a Doctorate in Executive Leadership with an emphasis on entrepreneurial leaders and systems and continues research in that area. She is held hostage in Cedar Rapids, Iowa while her athlete/gaming son, Alexander, finishes high school and determines his next adventure. She has two Labradors in Iowa and a Belgian Malinois in Texas with her Active-Duty Army Husband, Darrell. Karen Schumacher, owner of Crescendo Leadership Development, understands what goes into being a business owner, a volunteer, an executive and personal coach, as well as a mom and stepmom. She has inspired and empowered thousands of people to achieve their goals and work through obstacles holding them back through one-on-one coaching, her training workshops, and through her motivational speaking engagements. Karen has partnered with over 100 companies across the United States for organizational and leadership development since starting her company in 2013. Karen's mission is simple – to grow others. She helps others turn their learning into action. Karen is a Lead Trainer for Real Colors® Personality Instrument. She is a certified Executive Coach, recognized through the International Coaching Federation; and in 2016 became a John Maxwell certified trainer, coach, and speaker. She is a 2011 graduate from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance Leadership for Five Seasons program. In 2017, Karen was recognized in her community as a Women of Achievement in Leadership through Waypoint Services. In June of 2022 Karen became a bestselling author of "More Than Your Mindset; How to live a more positive and energized life". Beyond her professional life, Karen has been a volunteer in her community serving on such boards and committees such as Aiming for a Cure; President of the local chapter for Association for Talent Development; dedicated ten years as a Youth Leader for Junior High and High School students. She is involved in Marion Chamber's Leadership in Action, Waypoint Services Women of Achievement Committee, serves as a Make-A-Wish Wish Granter.
