Free Throw Championship News Release Knights of Columbus Council 3162 Mission San Luis Rey Local Knights of Columbus Council to Sponsor Youth Free Throw Championship All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 as of January 1, 2023, are invited to participate in the local level competition and athletic outlet for the 2023 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. This FREE event will be held on Saturday January 7, 2023, from 9:00 am – Noon at the Mission San Luis Rey basketball courts rain or shine. The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Challenge has been sponsored annually since 1972 , with winners progressing through local, district, and jurisdictional competitions. International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus international headquarters in New Haven, CT, based on scores from the jurisdiction-level competitions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.
