There are many photo editing software tools out there but Lightroom is the portrait and wedding photography industry standard that has stood the test of time and will continue to be the standard for years to come. If you want to be successful in portrait and wedding photography, and especially if you ever want to use a professional editor, you will eventually need to learn to edit in Lightroom. Editing can be, dare I say it, FUN once you understand all the tools! 
What about Photoshop, you ask? Photoshop is great….but…. ain’t nobody got time for that in the wedding world! If you want to run a profitable business, you need to learn to edit in Lightroom. 2:00 pm After your Lightroom tour and introduction, we will move onto a unique opportunity to learn, in detail, how Megan Hoffer achieves her bright & sharp, true to color, classic editing style! Megan will explain her own style of editing, step-by-step from raw file to completed, ready to deliver image. While we don’t encourage copying another photographer’s style, we do believe learning HOW another photographer you admire edits is a great place to start in the journey to creating your own consistent visual signature. No two people will end up with the same final image even with the same instruction….this is where your creative eye will come into play. 3:00 pm Lastly, we will dive into best practices for handling those thousands and thousands of image files you are starting to accumulate. Have you heard horror stories of photographers who have lost data? We certainly have. It’s a favorite topic for people to discuss at weddings while getting photographed. Please don’t be one of those names we’ve heard in situations that could have been avoided. Just one avoidable mistake and you may never work again. Organization is key. You don’t have to have a Type-A personality to better organize your photos. You just need a system. To wrap up this workshop, we take you through our step-by-step, fail-proof system for culling, storing and sending image files from getting home from a shoot to sending to the client. This system has been tweaked and re-worked many times over the years, let us cut out that work for you so you can learn from our experience and save you from some of the same mistakes! 4:00 pm The workshop will end with as needed Q & A until concluding at 5:00 pm.
