On Saturday, May 20th, Leonard's Palazzo in Queens, NY will host this year's event. Bethune-Height's 49th Annual Recognition Program theme for this year is "Looking Back, Moving Forward, Our Legacy: Empowering Future Generations." This event will be announced in the coming weeks, including the keynote speaker and nominees. The Bethune-Height Recognition Program (BHRP) is an annual fundraising event that recognizes outstanding community leadership and supports the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. In honor of NCNW founder Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and former President and Chair of the Board, Dorothy Irene Height, the BHRP salutes and recognizes all who exemplify the Bethune tradition of providing community volunteer services to those who are less fortunate. Bethune-Height's recognition program proceeds help support the organization's mission to lead, empower, and advocate for women of African descent, their families, and communities. This event is being coordinated by National BHRP Co-Chairs Johnnie M. Walker & Dawna M. Fields along with BHRP New York State Chair Carol E.
