Our hearts break for Mafan who has been bounced around homes and LAAS shelters for the past TWO YEARS. He even used to have a lovely name, Angelo, before a thoughtless owner changed it to Mafan which means “inconvenient,” and then dumped him back at the shelter. Mafan is Rescue Only and rescues need foster/adopters. He will be redlisted soon due to overcrowding at the shelter. In his long time at Harbor, we have seen no negative behaviors from Mafan; he simply needs his space respected & a little time to warm up. In fact, once you get to know Mafan he can be quite affectionate, leaning up against your leg for pets and takes treats gently. Mafan walks like a dream on the leash, knows his sit command, allows for gentle brushing, is playful with toys and not possessive, and he lights up for time together in the small play yard. Mafan is a sweet, sweet boy who has called LAAS shelters his main “home” for the past two years. Mafan will make a lovely companion and we hope you will consider giving Mafan a loving home. No other pets please as he needs time to decompress from shelter life.
