Seeking contractor to periodically haul beach wheelchairs around coast

Jobs

Severn MD

Description

We are a business (Sand Helper) that rents electronic beach wheelchairs all up and down the coast. Our home base is in Crofton MD, but we have rental locations as far north as New Jersey, and as far south as Destin and Panama City Florida (including places along the way such as Myrtle Beach and Cocoa Beach. However, since we are based out of Crofton, this is where our main maintenance warehouse is located, and so we are constantly bringing wheelchairs to and from these rental locations, so that the old ones out in the field can be swapped with recently maintained ones from Crofton. At the rental locations, the chairs are stored in self-storage facilities, so you would just be driving back and forth USING YOUR TRUCK AND TRAILER between storage facilities up and down the coast. Below are the specs of the wheelchairs. On average, we would need you to be able to haul about 10 wheelchairs south (mostly to the Florida locations) and bring 10 wheelchairs back to complete the swap. THEREFORE, you will need to own and operate a trailer that is at least 22 ft long (either enclosed or open with side rails all around the perimeter). The wheelchairs are 440lb each, so your truck will need a tow capacity of 8,000lb+ Length: 52" Width: 37" Height: 45" (but not stackable) Weight: 450lb The pay would be flat rate depending on the location of the swap. Below are examples of the rates that would be paid for a round trip swap (up to 10 wheelchairs going each way). Crofton MD-Destin or Panama City Beach FL (round trip): $1,500 Crofton MD-Myrtle Beach SC: $8000 Crofton MD-Clearwater FL: $1,300 Crofton MD-Gulf Shores FL: $1,500 Requirements for the operator/business: - Looking for someone who is flexible and available to start hauling wheelchairs as soon as possible - Has availability to dedicate loads to us (for example, be able to finish a Maryland to Florida haul within 5 days) - Must have proper insurance and be operating as a transporter legally - Must have equipment that meets all laws and regulations per DOT and further - Truck with tow capacity that meets requirement for the haul - Trailer that is at least 22ft long, to be able to fit two rows of 4' long wheelchairs, for a total of 10 on a haul If you are interested in the gig, and have availability to do loads periodically between now and the following few months, please contact us with the following information, via email reply or text message to (443) 745-1788 - Your name - Phone number - Email address - Business name if applicable - Type of towing vehicle - Type and size of trailer to be used (for example "25' enclosed") - Confirm that you are available to start hauling as soon as this week
