General Laborer position available. Looking to hire right away to begin work January 9th. We are a small family operated construction company based in Norfolk, Virginia. We are currently contracted with Target to perform General Labor duties for a store renovation for a 5-6 month job in Port Orange, FL. We are looking for someone that is local to the Daytona Beach area to work the full duration of the 5-6 month period until the job is completed. The estimated completion date is June 2, 2023, but may likely extend a few weeks past that date. Project Description: We are contracting with Target to assist in renovating their stores. Our contracted responsibilities focus on disassembling and reassembling shelving and merchandise displays, hanging signage, and moving displays for other contractors to access flooring, walls etc.. Our Team Lead will assist in training so that the work is completed correctly. Other Supervisors are on site at all times to provide daily task direction and manage the project schedule for each shift. Each shift is preplanned to complete the required work for each shift. The working hours are overnight from 10pm - 6am. Sunday night - Thursday night Shifts may fluxuate in phases during the project. Some weeks may switch to day shift and then return to night shift. Starting off the first couple of weeks most likely will be day shift (unloading trucks and set up) and will switch to night shift once assembly work is ready to begin inside the store. The hours shall not exceed 8 hours per day/40 hours per week. Payment: $20/hour - 40 hours a week, full time. This is a W-2 position. Weekly pay on Fridays. Direct deposit only. Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking a third person to assist our existing team of 2 to complete this job by the end of May or June. The position requires a basic knowledge and skillset of standard construction skills including, measuring properly, leveling, & using basic construction equipment. Some heavy lifting will be required. Some assembly on a ladder will be required. Must show up on time to the job site. Must be able to demonstrate professional demeanor while on the jobsite. Must be able to communicate and listen to instruction effectively. Must be able to take direction and do the required work without supervision. People are available for assitance if needed. Must be able to maintain a team-oriented attitude while representing our company and working in the presence of Target employees and other sub-contracted workers. Must have reliable transportation & a valid drivers license. Must be eligible to work in the US. Most tools are provided. We expect you to provide basic tools such a tape measure, pencils, level, hammer, and a drill. We will discuss in further detail during the interview of what tools are required. Once this contract is completed, other Target opportunities in another City are likely if you are willing & able to travel for work for long periods of time. Lodging provided.
