Firearms safety is emphasized as a primary topic throughout the course. Covered Topics: You will become familiar with the parts and operation of a handgun. The fundamentals of shooting are covered; position, grip, breath control, sight alignment, trigger squeeze, and follow-through, which is the first step to developing consistent accuracy. Defensive shooting fundamentals. Methods of concealed carry are covered. In addition to different types of ammunition, holsters and movement will be covered. Oregon & Utah laws (if applicable) and Federal gun laws covered. Body alarm responses/reactions resulting from a stress induced adrenaline dump. Use of deadly force, the aftermath and dealing with police plus much. There are no prerequisites for this course. It is recommended for adults who want to learn a foundation for defensive shooting of handguns & have no previous experience. However this course is also structured for the experienced shooter as well.
