The Lexington County Museum is pleased to host historian and writer Robert F. Moss for a talk on the history of barbecue in South Carolina and Lexington County. This presentation will look at the origins of pit-cooked meats in the New World and trace the development of barbecue in South Carolina from the colonial era till today, with a special focus on Lexington County. Robert F. Moss writes about food, drink, and travel. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, he is the Contributing Barbecue Editor for Southern Living, Restaurant Critic for the Post & Courier, and the author of five books on food and beverage history.
