Decentralized Food Networking Event This event is intended to allow individuals and businesses to network and form connections with others who are interested in, or are already involved in, decentralized food production. For the past 50 years, short term profits have been prioritized at the expense of long term health of people, the food supply and the ecosystem. The solution to these problems lies in resisting further centralization, eliminating interventionism and promoting decentralized, organic, bottom-up growth. [3] Open to all seeking: To find sources of locally produced foods. A path to produce their own food. To teach, trade or sell via their already-established local food production operation. This event is intended to be unstructured and informal: no registration lists or membership. There are no planned presentations, speakers or demonstrations; though a lack of such planning does not preclude the possibility. The desire is to allow individuals to meet others of like-mind, perhaps share philosophies, experiences and tips, as well as exchange contact information if they so desire. You may want to come prepared with: Some sort of pre-planned 15-30 second elevator speech to facilitate introductions with others (possibly outlining relevant information about your current state, where you'd like to go, and how you'd like to get there) could be useful. Contact or business cards. A notebook and writing utensil. Please do not bring outside food or drink out of respect for. Food and drink will available for purchase.
