Latest update: Monday, Dec. 26, 2022. • This work pays $20-$40 per hr depending on type and skill level of work. • Up to $120 immediate cash can be paid weekly for work done. • More pay for more work is possible if you take time payments or rent-for-work exchange. • Initially you will need to work as an "independent contractor." • Long-term arrangements are possible including profit-sharing commissions. ****************** WORK-TO-DO LIST. ****************** 1. Sell furniture + submit tax documents + apply for grants and loans for low-income housing development. Then will probably be able to pay off the bills---install a new well pump---rent-out 1 apartment. 2. Scrape loose paint--either with scrapers or with a pressure-washer. A 2-filter dust mask will be purchased for safety. 3. Help the owner to sign up for lessons on meeting environmental regulations. 4. Clean-up 2 apartments. Special precautions may be needed for rodent droppings. Make sure smoke alarms and heating systems are as required. Install brackets to hold fire extinguishers. Read the current requirements for rental units. 5. Spread one-bite rodent poison in the basement and appropriate locations across the house. (Any old house with stone foundation enables rodents to enter seeking warmth and food. In future, screening and/or other systems might be worked out that prevent the need for rodent poison.) 7. Doors between apartments need to be adjusted for better security. Also one extra doorway needed for fire escape code. 8. Adjust positions of existing lean-to's to enable use by pets. 9. Help to clear out the studio apartment. 10. Help to create a sleeping space in the barn.
