You Cannot Play in My Band

Description

You cannot play in my band because you have no perception for the overall sound of a band. You only care about what you sound like. You play too loud. You think faster is always better. You think all chords are power chords. You think you are a better player than you are. You have no taste, no schmaltz (you don't know what that word means), no depth, no feel, and absolutely no sense of tone. You lack any true feel for rhythm. You spend hours on your left hand technique and neglect the right hand (the hand that actually generates the sound). Because you have preferred and saturated your ears with showmen and charlatans, you never had a love for the simple music of the early pioneers. Therefore musically, you have no firm root within yourself. This is also the reason why you have no song writing ability. You are unable to truly listen, therefore you cannot learn. You are self-consumed. As a result, your fate is to only stay in your bedroom and play by yourself. Perhaps one day, you will attain to your highest aspiration and reach your ultimate dream of being in a “tribute band”. Then you can pretend to be someone else because you have no ability to create any original music worth while. No, you cannot play in my band. And, of course "nor would you want too".
