A Chiweenie — also known as a choxie — is a cross between a Chihuahua and a dachshund. This designer breed is spirited and loyal, packing a big attitude in a small body.  Meet Tato! I'm available for a meet and greet if you are interested! Final adoption would be through the rescue organization that I am fostering with. I'm fostering this sweet little guy for a local rescue here in West Palm Beach. He is scheduled to be fixed on Jan 4th but I'm trying to help find him a home so he can go back into his forever home and not the rescue after his surgery! He is 2 years old, weighs 10 lbs and has the most gentle temperament. He is still learning to trust and would love a quiet 1 or 2 person home. He is extremely affectionate and would love to cuddle up with someone who is home most of the day. He is potty trained and has been a champ learning to walk on leash. He is able to walk a mile on leash with small little corrections and no pulling. I'd be happy to teach his new owner basic leash training if you are new to it! I'm not sure how he does with other dogs yet (I haven't had the opportunity to have him around other dogs). But I was told he was in a home with 6 other dogs just like him when he was rescued. He is still recovering from being separated from his original family. So he really likes being with company and is shy and slow to warm up. Loud noises make him nervous still. But even being fearful, he doesn't bark or nip. Instead he is eager for pets, cuddles and love.
