The Flour Pot's Miss Ann Vandertie has a great lineup of classes for your home school youth. In these weekly classes youth are taught how to read a recipe, use measurement and other kitchen tools, mix ingredients, cook or bake various entrees or desserts.
This week, the kiddos will begin by learning to make churros from scratch and additionally tortilla chips with Pico de Gallo.
Churros are a sweet snack consisting of a strip of fried dough dusted with sugar or cinnamon.
Real tortilla chips can be made by cutting and baking real Mexican tortillas. Pico de Gallo is a type of salsa commonly used in Mexican cuisine. It is traditionally made from chopped tomato, onion, and peppers, with salt, lime juice, and cilantro.
